Jaime
"You think I’m a good man? I pushed a boy out a window, crippled him for life for Cersei. I strangled my cousin with my own hands just to get back to Cersei. I would have murdered every man, woman and child in Riverrun for Cersei. She’s hateful, and so am I."
Jaime was tricky this episode. From the beginning of the season, we saw that he’s been loyal to Daenerys and her fight. But now, after fighting in the battle, he’s ready to make off that quick?
In this instance, it seems like it’s both a loyalty conflict and a moral conflict. As he tells Brienne in this quote, his hands are not clean. No ones’ hands in Westeros are clean, really, but when it’s all done for Cersei, there’s hardly any moral justification for it. Cersei is evil; Jaime was evil. But doesn’t he realize he’s changed?
If Jaime is changing loyalties, it could mean he fights the final fights on Cersei’s side — leaving Tyrion as the lone Lannister sibling to support Daenerys. If he truly believes in what he said, this could be the outcome. On the other hand, he may feel like atoning for all the harm he’s caused for Cersei by killing her himself. Just as the Hound and Arya have not been quiet about their plans, we wish he could tell us what’s on his mind.
