Miss Dahl’s Voluptuous Delights by Sophie Dahl

We all know Sophie Dahl from her BBC cooking show, The Delicious Miss Dahl, so it was only natural that she released her cookbook in 2010, Miss Dahl’s Voluptuous Delights for all her fans who were eager to try out her recipes in their own homes.

As stated on the cover, this cookbook contains recipes for every season, mood, and appetite. As a treat to her fans, she shares stories and personal anecdotes that inspired each recipe within her book. And, the cookbook’s photography takes the recipes to the next level, and will definitely make you want to try your hand at every dish.

The recipes are easy to make and made with fresh ingredients. Some of the fan favorite recipes include the lettuce soup, the chicken curry, the baked eggs with swiss chard, the crab and fennel salad, the rhubarb yogurt, and the beetroot soup. But, she also includes recipes for your sweet tooth, as this book gives you recipes for all your moods.

Definitely check out her flourless chocolate cake. You’ll love the light, weightless texture of it. And, something a little denser to put in your oven is her recipe for banana bread that will have everyone asking for another slice.  Oh, and don’t forget her blackberry and apple crumble. Dahl will have the baker in your very busy and completely satisfied.

This is definitely a good pick for a simple cook, as some of the recipes take about 5 minutes, like the berry smoothie or her flapjack recipe. So, if you need a meal and only have a few minutes, this is a good resource to store on your shelf.
