Style Diaries: How to dress like Brie Larson

Crop tank top and high-waisted trousers
There are certain interviews and outings that are simply going to be a bit more dressed down than others. And while visiting The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Brie Larson went with a dressed down version of a dressed up look.
From the cropped tank top that she is wearing, the flowy, high-waisted trousers with their large banded belt, this look is what I think of when it comes to dressing up to dress down. She is still perfectly composed and almost business casual, even as she is showing off a slice of skin at the stomach. Of course, the confidence she has to wear this outfit reminds us that she really is a superhero now.
While you could certainly opt for regular work pants to try to recreate this look, we like the idea of going with dress slacks that have a bit more leg room to work with, just like these. Although I like the crop top that Larson is wearing to complete this look, when looking for a reasonable alternative, it was about finding a piece that was a bit more versatile. Thanks to Forever 21, there are two options (although not black) that I think work well and still give you the cropped tank top look.
