There is something to be said for Carpool Karaoke helping to make different celebrities look like everyday people just like us. And when it came to Madonna joining the car ride with James Corden, that is exactly what the goal was.

Sure, there were moments we would classify as more awkward than endearing, but overall, this was one of those segments that we think is a must watch at least once, even if it is just to watch Madonna sing some of her truly classic hits.

Not only did we get to watch as Corden and Madonna vogued it out in the car, but we also got the chance to listen to them sing hits like “Don’t Cry For Me Argentina,” “Express Yourself,” and “Papa Don’t Preach,” among others.

And while Madonna tried to make herself seem normal, by pointing out that only her career is rebellious and not herself, the reality is that she is never going to be as normal as the average person. Since the 1980s, the singer has been a star, which is why we expect nothing less than the zany, off-the-wall moments that were actually a bit of a highlight in this segment of Carpool Karaoke.
