Michelle Obama with Missy Elliott

It may have been a political segment, but having Michelle Obama in the passenger seat of James Corden’s car was worthy of all of our attention. Even as she was still the First Lady of the United States, it was also a lot of fun to have Obama singing and talking about life in the White House with the late night host.

She even mentioned how this was one of the few times she had even been in the passenger seat of a car in years, getting to rock out and have fun. And sure, she was in the car to help her daughter learn how to drive, but getting to have fun with Corden was an experience that definitely seemed to be exciting for her.

As someone who is not a musician, with a playlist to choose from, having Obama in the car for a ride meant that we were going to a true variety of songs. From Stevie Wonder’s “Signed, Sealed, Delivered, I’m Yours,” to Beyoncé’s “Single Ladies,” this was an entertaining car ride that also included a pop up by Missy Elliott.

And when Elliott appeared in the car, it became even more joyous than before. In fact, they were having so much fun that the rapper didn’t seem to want to leave the car. And we can’t blame her at all. Who wouldn’t want to be in a car with Michelle Obama singing and talking about life?

This is definitely a must watch Carpool Karaoke segment, although we can’t imagine them ever replicating the magic of this car ride. Instead, we get to watch this on repeat and enjoy what life used to be like.
