Oscars 2019 fashion: 19 most fantastic red carpet looks

Why yes, Awkwafina is wearing pants and a giant bow on the red carpet. Her shoes look massive (you can just spot one of her platforms), but they almost have to be to keep her upright under the sheer magnitude of this suit.

It seems like the shades of her jacket and pants could be slightly different, although that could be a lighting issue. Even if they are different, they’re visually similar enough that you get the idea — and when you do see that they appear different, it adds a bit of a visual punch to this look. The giant bow is ridiculous, but that’s basically why we like it.

Regina King is finally an Oscar winner, and on the night she finally got a nomination and an award, she kept it pretty simple in a standard white. Simple doesn’t always mean safe, though; there are some great visual details and sculpturing here, including at the hips. Because it’s rendered in white, it doesn’t look as fussy as it could. Although it isn’t pictured here, she does have a slit in the dress that goes quite high, moving it more towards the visually interesting ensembles that deserve spots on this list.

Again, though, it’s the quiet satisfaction that has us loving this look.
