Annette Bening portrays the Supreme Intelligence

Similar to Jude Law’s character limbo, we don’t know who Annette Bening portrays in Captain Marvel. There has been an array of hypotheses about Bening’s Captain Marvel character, including Phyla-Vell. While we’re ready to see Phyla-Vell and her extensive and complicated arc in the MCU someday, a popular fan theory suggests that Bening could portray the Supreme Intelligence.

Screen Rant notes that Bening’s fate as the Supreme Intelligence could be confirmed by some Captain Marvel merchandise; however, we know from Jude Law’s related merch that collectible-related character leaks can change.  The Supreme Intelligence is an artificial intelligence that reigns over the Kree.

While Bening’s clips in the Captain Marvel trailers suggest the ruling force over the Kree has taken on a new humanoid form, her uncharacteristic appearance could suggest she might not play the Supreme Intelligence at all. Granted, the MCU isn’t opposed to making some surface and plot level alterations, so we could see a new form of the Supreme Intelligence beyond a test tube confined head.

The secrecy around Annette Bening’s role in Captain Marvel could hint as a critical twist or two regardless of whatever character she portrays.
