Green sweater dress

When it comes to keeping things simple, but giving the world a pop of color, the Duchess of Cambridge knows exactly what she is doing. As she stepped out on Feb. 5 to visit the Alperton Community School, she made the perfect picture of elegance in a green Eponine sweater dress. To stick with the simple elegance, the Duchess paired the dress with lace up black ankle boots, black stockings, and a simple black clutch, for a look that is perfect for everything from work to a day out with friends.

While we may not be able to snag the same pieces that the Duchess wore, we can still find some stunning options that don’t break the bank, but still allow us to wear a pop of color, while being elegant in our own way. And if you are looking for the stunning green to be added to your closet, then we have you covered.

If you want to stay under $100, but still look lovely in green, then this Boden Bronte Ottoman Dress from Nordstrom is the perfect solution. Not only do you get a similar shade of green that the Duchess wore, but it also has a similar silhouette that we think is perfect and classic.

Because we love the green of this dress so much, we couldn’t resist sticking to dresses that come in this lovely shade that pops. Once again, staying under the $100 mark, this time with a dress that is $89, we found a Jessica Howard Sweater Dress in Hunter Green. Unlike the dress the Duchess is wearing, the sleeves on this dress are 3/4 length, and there is a bit more swing to the skirt. This is the kind of sweater dress we think will look good on a variety of body types, which makes it a winner in our book.

Finally, we can’t forget the boots the Duchess is wearing, as they made a perfect statement with this dress. While I normally like to let people pick the shoes they want to make a look complete, I had to find a pair of boots that give you the same vibe as the Duchess.

And while you can certainly choose whatever footwear you want with this sweater dress, the boots we found from DSW came in under $55 and were a perfect complement to either dress. Ultimately these black Journee Collection Wen Booties are a relatively inexpensive, but lovely alternative to what the Duchess wore with her green sweater dress.
