Star Wars: Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back – Han and Leia

Star Wars films aren’t exactly known for romance, but they definitely dip into romcom territory every now and then. In The Empire Strikes Back, Han and Leia are on the Millennium Falcon trying to escape from the Imperial fleet. Along with Chewbacca and C-3PO, they hide in an asteroid field, but the duo in question ends up getting very close.

Leia is busy trying to be actually useful when Han comes up behind her to bug her. You can tell she’s annoyed, but Han keeps on his teasing, even when she calls him a scoundrel. The pair get closer and closer as Han takes Leia’s hand and starts rubbing it. It seems like the tension between the two is just too much, and it doesn’t matter where they are or what’s going on around them, the kiss is destined to happen. Sure enough, they go in for a nice, gentle kiss.

But a kiss can never be easy in the Star Wars universe. Just as things are getting steamy, C-3PO bursts with an announcement for Han and ruins the moment. What a buzzkill! Of course fans are treated to more moments between Han and Leia in the future (like that kiss before Han gets frozen in carbonite), but who could forget this quick little minute of romance before being thrust back to reality?
