Ah, we’ve missed you, The Walking Dead. We’re glad the midseason premiere is upon us, but we’re still anxious for our favorite survivors.

It’s the eve of the storm, and if you’re still calm before going into The Walking Dead midseason premiere, then you need to get in the game. And no, this storm isn’t a Syfy crossover event between Sharknado and The Walking Dead because nobody will ever be ready to see a walker-nado. However, The Walking Dead‘s midseason premiere, “Adaptation,” is going to be a monumental event regardless. After all, this episode will introduce a new villain and ignite a lengthy war in TWD comics.

Alpha is coming, and we’re not sure the survivors at Alexandria and the adjacent communities are ready for her horde of Whispers. As the synopsis for “Adaptation” suggests, S9E9 will be about big reveals:

"The group unmasks a disturbing and dangerous new thread. An escaped captive revisits his past."

The synopsis already suggests that the group will unmask their newest enemy. See, the Whispers aren’t actually walkers who co-opted the Warm Bodies trope just so they can become stab-happy zombies.

As the “Adaptation” teaser suggests, the Whispers are a herd of survivors that skin zombies so that they can moonlight as walkers. Aside from celebrating Halloween year-round and winning every post-apocalyptic costume party, they have major issues with other survivors.

Like we mentioned before, it’s going to get a lot more complicated on the series. While we’re basking in our pre-chaos glow, we’re just ready to see how the series will recreate and change one of our favorite comic book sagas on the series.
