Rebecca is starting to take her mental health seriously on this week’s Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, and that means focusing more on herself and not so much on everyone else.
Last week taught us about self-care, and this week’s Crazy Ex-Girlfriend is continuing the message. Now that Rebecca and Paula know that they have their limitations too, they both need to take the time to take care of themselves as well as their friends.
The two found themselves with a harsh reality last week. Paula nearly had a heart attack and didn’t realize it because she was too focused on her career and helping her friends and Rebecca spiraled to the point of almost ruining every relationship in her life.
Mainly because she wouldn’t go to the doctors anymore because she thought she had it under control. Luckily, this time around, Rebecca had a support system that told her where to go and what she needed to do.
For most of the show’s run, Rebecca didn’t have anyone on her side that would tell her to go to group. Her mother just tried to dope her up and her friends pretended like it wasn’t happening. Now though, she is taking her diagnosis seriously and working towards getting better.
For Paula, she has to realize that she’s just human too and cannot do everything all at once. So, she’s working towards getting herself healthy and not focusing solely on her friends. They need her help sure but how can she help them if she’s dead?
So will this week show Rebecca stepping up for Paula but also taking care of herself? Or will everyone just continue on with their somewhat destructive behavior? We’ll have to see on this week’s Crazy Ex-Girlfriend.
