Veronica Mars

Miracles can happen, marshmallows. Veronica Mars is coming back!

After rumors abounded that a reboot of the popular cult teen detective series was in the works, fans got the best news ever. This Veronica Mars would actually be a revival, reuniting us all with the original characters we loved so much in Neptune, California instead of trying to remake a show that was already perfect in the first place.

(This really is the little show that wouldn’t die.)

Originally, Veronica Mars was about a teenager who moonlighted as a private detective under the tutelage of her father at Mars Investigations – while going to school and attempting to solve the murder of her best friend. The show ran for three seasons and solved a few more mysteries before being canceled during Veronica’s first year at college.

After three seasons and a Kickstarter-funded movie which followed the characters as adults, it’s hard to even speculate about where the story of Veronica and her friends might go, now that everyone’s all grown up and has maybe changed careers and/or romantic partners a couple of times. But creator Rob Thomas is back running the show, and the bulk of the original cast is slated to return, including Kristen Bell, Jason Dohring, Percy Daggs III, Ryan Hansen, Enrico Colantoni and more. According to reports, the Hulu revival intends to take the show back to its noir roots and promises a darker tone than the series’ had during either its UPN or CW runs. Given how shady literally everyone always seemed in Neptune, this shouldn’t be too hard. But it’ll still be great to watch.
