The Dead King

The Dead King is actually the first king of Atlantis, Atlan. After being betrayed, and his kingdom destroyed, he was thought to be dead. However, Aquaman’s powers are said to have awakened the Dead King, and considering our hero is thought to be a descendant of the person who betrayed him (his own brother), he is not looking to work with Aquaman.

Upon his awakening, the Dead King decides that it is time for him to reclaim his kingdom, his throne, and his people, and this ultimately pits him against our hero.

We think it would be fascinating to see the Dead King appear in a sequel. While we saw the holographic of Atlan in the first film, getting more of his story, even as a villain, would be interesting. Plus, he would be a worthy antagonist for our hero, which would definitely enrich any future movies.

V’lana

In the comics, V’lana is the new queen of the Xebel. She is a known enemy of Mera, and as the woman who is essentially taking Mera’s place in her own kingdom, it makes sense that these two ladies would not be on friendly terms.

As an enemy of Mera’s, we would love to see V’lana make an appearance in a sequel, especially if this means getting to see even more of Amber Heard’s character. Mera is a hero in her own right, and she deserves to have more of the story focused on her, which would certainly happen if one of her enemies shows up in a sequel.

There are plenty of amazing characters that contribute to the Aquaman comics and his story. We think any one of the many Atlanteans, surface dwellers, and other heroes of the DC slate would make an excellent addition to a sequel. Hopefully we get to see at least one of these characters show up in a second Aquaman movie.
