Outlander season 4 episode 4 live stream: Watch online
Bad luck continues to follow the Frasers in America, and Brianna finally receives some news about her mother in “Common Ground.”
This week on Outlander Claire has a bad feeling about Fraser’s Ridge, the land she and Jamie decided to call home at the end of “The False Bride.” She wonders if the time-traveling Native American ghost (yeah, you read that right) she came across was actually trying to warn her about the land: “What if he knows something bad happens here?” she worries.
Under normal circumstances, I would call this a stretch, but then again it is Outlander and the Frasers do seem to be having some major problems with the place — including a bear and Native Americans who are none too pleased to see their land taken without permission.
Here’s “Common Ground’s” synopsis, via Starz:
"Jamie, Claire, and Young Ian begin to build a home at Fraser’s Ridge, but their efforts are stymied by unwelcoming neighbors and a bloodthirsty bear that ravages their settlement. In the 20th century, Roger tries to reconnect with Brianna by searching for proof that her parents found each other in the past, and what he finds shakes him to the core."
Okay, maybe Claire’s premonition isn’t quite as absurd as it sounds. Rollo’s ominous barks in the episode promo confirm as much:
On the other side of the standing stones, Brianna hears from Roger. No, he’s not apologizing about his appalling behavior at the Scottish festival: he’s uncovered some information about Claire from the 18th century. Perhaps a tragic fate is awaiting Claire, Jamie, and Young Ian at Fraser’s Ridge. If so, Brianna is just the person to save them.
It seems it won’t be long before Bree — and possibly Roger, too — joins her family back in the 1760s. We do know from the season trailer she’ll be making her way to Craigh na Dun in due course. Assuming the Bree we saw in “The False Bride” is the Bree of future episodes, I’m psyched for that to happen. She’s just as headstrong as Claire, and came of age in an even more modern world. Eighteenth-century life won’t be smooth sailing for Brianna, but it sure will be fun for us.
