Times are hard on the Colossus and money is hard to come by, especially for Kaz. When the opportunity arrives to earn a good chunk of money, Kaz decides to go after it. Unfortunately for him, the First Order isn’t far behind.

Earlier in the series, like in “The Triple Dark,” we saw Kaz earn a smaller wage compared to Tam and Neeku. The wage simply reflects the amount of work that gets done. Try as he might, Kaz is just not that great of a mechanic. Even in the most recent episode, “The High Tower,” Kaz tells Aunt Z to put their drinks under Tam’s tab because he can’t afford a drink for himself.

Kaz has been doing the best he can, but he’s getting to a point where money is crucial for his survival. His father can’t come to the rescue, so he has to find a way to do it himself. An opportunity falls onto his lap and he decides to take up the task, but it won’t be easy.

According to the official synopsis for “The Children from Tehar,” the next all-new episode:

"Kaz searches for two missing children for a sizeable reward only to discover the First Order is also hunting for them."

Several questions come to mind: Why are these children missing? Where is the planet Tehar located in the Star Wars galaxy? Why is the First Order chasing after them? What if these children are Force-sensitive?

Catch a glimpse of what the show has to offer with this extended sneak peek:

Unlike the previous Star Wars animated shows, Star Wars Resistance doesn’t have any characters who are Force sensitive. But what about background characters? Both Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels included episodes centered around Force-sensitive children. It could be this new episode is headed in that direction.

That said, it would be strange to introduce Force-sensitive children to a cast of characters who aren’t knowledgeable in the Force. Additionally, even though this energy is present in all lifeforms throughout the galaxy, it doesn’t play a part until Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

If they’re not Force sensitive, what makes them so important to the First Order? Let’s not forget how Finn was taken as a baby and conditioned to be a soldier for the First Order. It could be these children are trying to escape the stormtrooper training program, which is overseen by General Armitage Hux and Captain Phasma.
