It’s a Hogwarts reunion! The new YouTube series Origins will feature Tom Felton and Natalia Tena who have worked together before in the Harry Potter movies.
Loyal Potterheads will be happy to know that Tom Felton is staring in the new YouTube original series titled Origins and will be reunited with his Harry Potter castmate, Natalia Tena, who played Nymphadora Tonks in the Potter movies.
Felton’s Harry Potter character Draco Malfoy and Tonks didn’t have much screen time together in the films because they were on different sides of the conversation — with Malfoy leaning more toward the pureblood enthusiasts that supported Voldemort. But now, they will be working collaboratively in this new sci-fi thriller set to be released this fall.
The Origins trailer, which debuted during New York Comic Con, shows volunteers accepting a proposal to colonize the habitable planet Thea in exchange for erasing their troubled past. It sounds like a good deal ’til their mission to Thea is disrupted under mysterious circumstances while they are in hypersleep.

The series is set to resemble the sci-fi horror film Event Horizon, which was about an abandoned spaceship haunted by an evil entity. On the other hand, Origin has yet to reveal what is genuinely terrorizing the crew on board of the ship. Is it a supernatural force or is there a creature of extraterrestrial origin forcing the team to fight for their lives?
Our main clue is linked to the Siren corporation who funded the expedition and is already shady for proposing to clean everyone’s history. It’s also implied that one of the people on the ship may not be who they say they are and is playing a double agent. It looks like for the time being YouTube is going to keep the source of the series evil problems a mystery so viewers will only find out on the day of its release.
The YouTube’s Origins official synopsis states:
"From the producers of The Crown & producers of Lost comes Origin, a chilling new original series that follows a group of troubled passengers as they wake up on a damaged spaceship abandoned in deep space. Each having left behind a dark past in search of a fresh start on a newly colonized planet, they’re determined to survive at all costs. But as their terrifying situation spirals into paranoia, they come to realize that the greatest threat to their dream of starting over – and indeed their lives – is something far darker than the pasts they were so desperate to escape."
Origin is set to go up against other suspense-filled series like Netflix’s The Haunting of Hill House this winter. In retrospect, it will be nice to see Felton and Ten working together again.
All episodes will be available on YouTube Premium on Nov. 14.
