Footage of Mysterio finally surfaces from Spider-Man: Far From Home filming

Fan footage from Spider-Man: Far From Home seems to show Mysterio meeting Spider-Man. We’ve been waiting to see the villain, and this could be it.

When it comes to Spider-Man: Far From Home footage, we’ve seen Peter Parker cruising down a canal in a gondola, Nick Fury and Agent Hill getting upset about something, and quite possibly even Happy meeting with the former SHIELD agents.

But out of all the Far From Home cast, including MJ, Ned, Flash, and others — we’ve yet to see an actual villain on set. Finally, that’s all changed now thanks to a fan in the Czech Republic with a great eagle-eye view of the set.

In a clip shared by Twitter user Martin Knap you can see the Liberec, Czech Republic carnival set with Mysterio finally on the scene. As we talked about previously, there was no way the carnival would be safe from destruction, and it looks like we can now confirm this was all Mysterio’s doing.

What we can’t say for certain, though, is if this is Jake Gyllenhaal (who’s still rumored to play the villain) in the video. We have to admit there’s an uncanny resemblance to him if anything else. In a Reddit post with a close-up image of Mysterio, someone suggested that it might be Gyllenhaal’s stunt double, even though nothing particularly stunt-double-worthy appeared to have happened in the set video.

The set footage also seems to show off the black Spider-Man suit that everyone’s been buzzing about recently. Some people think it resembles the Spider-Man Noir suit, which is a throw-together black outfit with slacks and a trench coat in the comics

Since the set photos haven’t exactly been HD-quality, it’s hard to tell exactly what the Far From Home black suit looks like. But at the same time, the suit doesn’t necessarily have the sleek appeal of the suits Tony Stark made for him (of course, those finishes could all be changed in post-production).

What’s left to see now is what Mysterio will look like with the fishbowl-shaped helmet. The Marvel villains, so far, have done a good job of not looking so cartoonish, but Mysterio’s helmet may be the thing to change it all. Now, if we could only get some confirmation about the other rumored villains in the movie.
