Saoirse Ronan as Scarlet Witch

When Joss Whedon was casting the role of Scarlet Witch in Avengers: Age of Ultron, he was thinking about Saoirse Ronan at one point. Ronan herself actually expressed that she had an interest in the role in an interview she did with The Mary Sue. She said, “Of course I would [be interested]. I love Joss and I love those films… So yeah, I’d love to be in it.”

She ended up not getting the role, of course. Elizabeth Olsen has been playing Scarlet Witch since Age of Ultron. While many fans are happy with this choice, we do think there could be a role for Saoirse Ronan in the MCU. She is a talented actress, and we think she could have brought the creepy factor to Scarlet Witch. Since she has been in roles such as the one in The Lovely Bones, we think she could have brought some depth to the role.

However, Elizabeth Olsen has definitely left her mark on the character, and it is weird to think of any other actress taking her place at this point. We could see Saoirse taking on the role of a villain of some sort in the MCU in the future, however.
