How to make a good cup of coffee

Not everyone likes or drinks coffee, we know. But it is still a good idea to know how to make a good cup of coffee. If you have guests over who appreciate a cup or two, being able to make that for them is a bonus. If you are a coffee drinker, then you should know how to feed your addiction without having to run off to Starbucks, Dunkin’ Donuts, or any other coffee place. While Keurig and other pod coffee brewing systems have made this a lot easier, being able to brew your own cup of coffee is not only a very adult thing to do, but it is also rather rewarding.

Time management

You don’t want to be late all the time, because that is simply not putting your best foot forward. Paying attention to your schedule, the things you have to do, and how long things take is also all part of effective time management. By 30, you should know how to get things done without being late, missing deadlines, or simply forgetting it entirely.

Know how to set a dinner table

At some point in your life, you will most likely have guests over for dinner. In your thirties, you should know how to properly set a dinner table. While there are different ways to do this, whether based on a simple preference, formal etiquette, or even based on a general dinner, you need to know how to set a table. Thanks to Emily Post, you learn how to be quite formal about the whole process without going to etiquette school. With more than one way to set a table, you can determine what works for you and set a table like a pro the next time you have visitors.

Understanding public transportation

Whether in your own hometown or on vacation, you should know how to navigate public transportation. Not only is this important if something happens and you don’t have a car or a ride, but it is also good when you are on vacation and trying to see the sites like a local. Know how to read the maps that are often provided by the public transportation associations. Pay attention to where things go, when the cut off times are, and also how much the fare is. These are all critical pieces of information needed to properly use transportation in different cities.

Be able to eat alone at a restaurant

You are an adult now. And not only should you be able to be alone comfortably, you should also be able to eat out alone. While it can sometimes seem scary and overwhelming to go to a restaurant by yourself, you can totally do this! Bring a book, enjoy the food, and remember you can be the best company you have.
