Night Court

This show has levels of nostalgia — those who watched it when it originally aired, and those who remember reruns of the show on Nick at NiteNight Court, about lawyers who handled the nighttime court cases that rolled in, was filled with characters and is probably the reason a lot of us have unexplained feelings for John Laroquette.

With Judge Harry Stone, Night Court focused on the night shift of a Manhattan municipal court. Obviously, this would be an interesting setting because who really comes into a courtroom that late at night?

From random bombs being thrown into the courthouse and inter-personal drama between the characters, Night Court made us believe that it’d be fun to work as a lawyer or a judge that late at night (real court is not nearly as fun and light-hearted as the show). But our nostalgia for it comes from those endless nights watching it while trying to fall asleep.

It is truly remarkable that no one has thought to bring it back when it is an easy classic to revisit. Then again, it wouldn’t be the same without Harry Anderson as Judge Harry Stone, so this may be one show we just have to always miss in our hearts.
