Buffy the Vampire Slayer

Is the end of Buffy the Vampire Slayer really the end since Angel was also a thing? Well, yes and no. The original Buffy the Vampire Slayer held such importance that, while Angel was a show we know and love, the ending to Buffy still holds relevance. Before her, there weren’t really any kickass ladies like Buffy.

Sure we had Wonder Woman and some superheroes, but a vampire slayer who was also a cheerleader? She could be girly and fall in love, but she also would stone-cold murder a vampire if she had to. Not to mention she had her incredible group of friends who were all just as badass as Buffy herself.

Say what you will about Joss Whedon, but he gave us Buffy at a time when no one else was creating these stories. So to see her story come to an end was sad for fans, because who knew when we would possibly see another hero like this vampire slayer on screen?

Buffy the Vampire Slayer‘s finale may not have been emotionally sad in context, but the cultural importance of the show made the end just as heartbreaking. We didn’t want to say goodbye and we still don’t — at least they are rebooting the series in 2018.
