2016 – Captain America: Civil War

As stated before, the Marvel Cinematic Universe dominates the box office. Prior to the release of Avengers: Infinity War, the most popular of the MCU movies was Captain America: Civil War.

It was combining heroes that have never interacted before and was finally bringing in Spider-Man as part of the MCU family. The king of Wakanda is murdered and they believe that it is Bucky Barnes, the Winter Soldier, who did it. So Steve Rogers goes to find his best friend only to discover that Bucky is being framed.

With tensions already high between Tony Stark and Steve Rogers, this causes a big problem with the Avengers as Steve, along with the rest of his crew, become war criminals in trying to prove Bucky’s innocence.

With gigantic battles and the discovery of the truth behind the deaths of Howard and Maria Stark, Captain America: Civil War is the lead up to everything we now know about the MCU. It was epic, there were so many cameos and amazing fights, and it was one of the best movies of the year.

Obviously, though, Team Cap was the way to go and if you were Team Iron Man, we have some talking to do.
