2015 – Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens

The resurgence of our love of all things Star Wars comes from the release of Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens. When news broke that Disney had bought LucasFilm, many were worried about what would happen with the series.

The Force Awakens didn’t disappoint. Bringing back our favorite characters from the original trio, it was incredible to see Leia Organa and Han Solo on screen once more. And Chewbacca, too! Following the story of Rey, the Force Awakens is about Han Solo and Leia Organa’s son, Ben, and his turning to the dark side of the Force.

Kylo Ren (Ben Solo) learns about his grandfather and feels a pull to the dark side. While he is training with Luke Skywalker, he turns and joins the Knights of Ren. He does something absolutely unforgivable that we don’t dare speak of (because how dare you hurt Han Solo) but his storyline isn’t the most important. Rey’s is.

With Rey, Poe, and Finn, the three are trying to stop Kylo Ren from rising to power with Supreme Leader Snoke. The resistance is fighting strongly against the powers that be and truly, it is an amazing movie that brought Star Wars back in a huge way.
