Stephen Colbert

If it isn’t musical theater then it is Lord of the Rings. King of the nerdy late-night talk show hosts, Stephen Colbert has proven his nerd love time and time again, mainly about Lord of the Rings but also space.

Colbert is unapologetic about his nerdy tendencies and that’s one of the reasons we love him so much. When celebrities are secret nerds, that’s cool and all but for someone like Stephen Colbert, who is hosting his own late-night talk show, to be openly nerdy towards his guests?

Watching Colbert geek out with Anna Kendrick over musicals or sit with Sebastian Stan and talk about going to Mars someday, it is clear that he truly loves all things nerdy. He even got Live Tyler to reenact her famous, “If you want him, come and claim him” scene with him laying on her. How awesome is that?

So to see someone like Colbert doing it on national television every night? It is amazing and makes us nerds feel like we belong in the spotlight too. We see Stephen Colbert as a geeky father figure, and we owe him our neverending gratitude for sharing his nerdiness with his fellow nerdy guests.
