Not all nerds have to like movies or pop culture. Some nerds are really the kind who just love technology and want to be engrossed in every new product coming out. Who is that kind of nerd, you may ask? Well, surprisingly, the daughter of Quincy Jones himself, Rashida Jones.

Rashida has openly admitted to being fascinated by technology. The Parks and Recreation and Angie Tribeca star is witty, fun, beautiful, and the fact that she’s fascinated by technology makes her infinitely cooler than she ever was before. She’s also a self-proclaimed music nerd, adding another layer to her already awesome qualities. Jones also nearly went to Harvard University, where she wanted to be a lawyer, but seeing the O. J. Simpson trial made her think again about pursuing that profession.

That being said, she is on Parks and Recreation, a show filled with actors who are known nerds about things. Come on, Adam Scott has an entire podcast about his love of U2. It is nice to see Rashida being a nerd about something other than pop culture though. Rashida Jones is one of those subdued nerds that surprises you with her knowledge and then, once surprised, you just want to be her best friend and talk about computers for the next four hours.

Really though, maybe we just want to be best friends with Rashida Jones in general. It helps that she’d probably line up with us to get the new iPhone.
