Mindy and Danny – The Mindy Project

Their love story: Mindy Lahiri and Danny Castellano both work at a successful Manhattan obstetrics office. Although they have a mostly contentious relationship, you can tell the tension is rooted in something more than animosity. While Mindy is seemingly vacuous and flighty (although professionally adept), Danny is uptight and rigid. Mindy concerns herself with Beyoncé’s Instagram and Danny collects stamps. They were both self-centered weirdos in their own right.

They are total opposites, but as TV romances happen, they are drawn together. They flirt and wink at each other, and then they actually date. Mindy winds up pregnant, and it looks like their relationship might finally go from question mark to period.

Did they or didn’t they: Of course they did. It is well established that Mindy Lahiri loves romantic comedies. She was raised on When Harry Met Sally and Sleepless in Seattle.  How else could her love story end? She made her happy ending her own, as Danny professes his love after helping her dislodge her arm from a vending machine. Sour straws can be really romantic.

How to watch it unfold: Mindy Kahling originated the character of Dr. Mindy Lahiri for the FOX network. However, Hulu scooped it up after a few seasons, and it ran for a total of six seasons. Chris Messina appeared less after the couple broke up, but reprised a full-time role as Danny in those final episodes.
