25 best on again off again couples

Everybody has a couple like these on again off again, will they won’t couples.  They like each other, and they flirt, but they won’t pull the trigger. Or maybe you know a couple who fight, break up, and get back together over and over. These couples are all over our TV landscape as well, and we watch as they circle around and around each other, season after season.  It’s hard to root for them, and sometimes, after a while, we just want them to get on with it, already.

We can’t fault them for these complicated exhibitions of emotions and sentiment. We all know how terrible/wonderful love can be in real life. So, to celebrate the complexity of relationships and falling in love, we’ve dug up 25 of the best on again off again couples in recent TV history.

Some of them wind up together in the end, and we got to rejoice in their happily ever after. Some of them spent a few glorious seasons together and then went their separate ways. But, unfortunately, some of these couples were doomed from the start, never go off the ground, or just couldn’t survive the rigors of the outside world. These are the couples we can probably find the most sympathy for.

We’ve got something for everyone on this list. From the most jaded of all cynics to the romantic optimist, these couples run the romantic gamut. You don’t have to believe in fairytale endings nor do you have to think love sucks to find something to connect to here.
