Game of Thrones season 8 spoilers: The very latest filming updates (yes, really)

Did you think that just because there was a Game of Thrones wrap party that there would be no more filming? Think again, fans.

Warning: Would it be Game of Thrones if there weren’t a few surprises left in store for spoilers fans?

At some point, you’d think the Game of Thrones season 8 production would actually come to an end, right? It seems like that would be the case, since there was that big wrap party where Kit Harington showed off his dance moves.

Apparently, that’s not happening just yet. Twitter user A Red Priestess is back online and posting photos she’s taken of the King’s Landing set in Belfast, and though she didn’t have any reports of actors on the set, it looks like this week has definitely seen some last gasps of activity.

And by “last gasps,” we mean that there are still green screens up! Seriously:

Fans in the replies came in with a pretty solid theory as well as to why those screens are up. After all, we all know what they’re used for.

“Damage/fire” lines up pretty much perfectly with what we know is going on in the capital this year. While A Red Priestess’ photos don’t show any full-fledged fire (anymore), the smoke does indicate that there’s still some destruction going on.

In the grand scheme of things, we’re wondering if this will be something along the lines of the loot train attack from the last season, where there are some fighting scenes among the chaos and fire. It might not be exactly the same, of course — it’s in the city, rather than just outside it, but that could change how things look and operate.

Here’s hoping that it results in a claustrophobic, although not too chaotic, battle for us to enjoy in Game of Thrones season 8.
