New set photos reveal Wonder Woman 2 is taking on Washington, D.C.
Want to see Wonder Woman take on Washington, D.C.? Well, you may be in luck if these set pictures are true for the sequel.
Wonder Woman was the smash hit of 2017. So it is no surprise that everyone can’t get enough information regarding the sequel. We know very little thus far. With confirmation (in a way) from Patty Jenkins and Geoff Johns that the film will take place in 1984, there isn’t much they’re letting fans in on.
Recently though, a Twitter account shared photos that they claim are from the set of Wonder Woman 2. The photo shows a garage with plenty of vintage cars, plus a fire truck for the District of Columbia.
A second tweet shows even more dated cars, and a close-up of a pretty busted up one.
Along with these photos, there have been murmurs that Chris Pine (Steve Trevor in Wonder Woman) was spotting, which is interesting since he met his demise by the end of the film.
Other than Pine, there hasn’t been any news on whether other characters from the original are making a return. It is over 60 years after the original film after all. Still, it is an interesting choice to have Wonder Woman take on the capital in the midst of the Cold War. Especially since we know that in the DCEU, she vanished for quite some time.
With the knowledge that she’s heading to D.C and the film is most likely set in 1984, the next question is clear. Will Ronald Reagan make an appearance? While the DCEU has its own cities and politics, a lot of the original Wonder Woman movie was based on aspects of World War I. So Reagan and other historical figures from the ’80s could influence the plot.
It is all speculation of course, but if Diana Prince is on her way to Washington, it could mean a big change in the timeline laid out in Batman vs. Superman and Justice League, where she had disappeared for years after the death of Steve Trevor.
