Has Wonder Woman 2 already begun filming in Virginia?

Wonder Woman 2 is set to film in Virginia this June… but may have begun a little early according to a few fan accounts.

Update: The Washington Post reports Gal Gadot was spotted at Rasika West End on May 30. The restaurant is about 20 minutes away from Landmark Mall, a reported filming location for the movie. Gadot was seen with husband Yaron Varsano and her two daughters.

We’ll keep you updated on more sightings of the actress and fellow Wonder Woman 2 cast as the movie continues to film.

With Wonder Woman, girls and boys everywhere finally got to enjoy a female-led superhero movie that was wildly successful — both in profit and its execution and inspiring message.

There were movies like Catwoman in the past, sure. But nothing came close to what Patty Jenkins created or Gal Gadot portrayed. Wonder Woman took over our every waking moment. We couldn’t get enough of Diana Prince and her takedown of World War I!

So where does that leave us for the sequel? With Steve Trevor presumably dead, Diana seems to have fled the world of man for a while.

Patty Jenkins confirmed last month that the film will be set in the 1980s. Warner Brothers also purchased domain names featuring the words “WonderWoman” and every year of the 1980s. Will we see Gal Gadot in some fabulous ’80s style soon? Who knows.

Lucky fans in Virginia may see her soon enough though, as the Washington Business Journal reported earlier this month that Patty Jenkins and Gal Gadot will be filming there this summer.

Now, according to a few fan accounts like DC Universe News, filming may already have begun. In what could be a huge shocker to fans, an Instagram video that has since been deleted said Chris Pine was spotted on set.

In the video, we see a parking lot with a few large trucks parked. There is no clear view of anyone or anything, and as we said, the video above was deleted from the original poster’s Instagram account.

This rumor could offer an interesting twist to the second film. We lost Steve Trevor at the end of the first movie. In the comics and in the original television series, Steve comes back in a multitude of ways. Through his grandson or Aphrodite, Steve Trevor is brought back to life so that Diana Prince can be reunited with her love once more.

How will that work with Wonder Woman 2? We’ll have to wait and see but one thing we do know for sure is that we’re going to see Kristen Wiig as Cheetah and that’s enough to get anyone excited.
