Westworld season 2 episode 8 live stream: Watch online
By Amy Woolsey
After last week’s high-octane episode, Westworld takes a breather, spending an hour with the members of Ghost Nation. Here’s how to watch.
Episode 7, it seems, is the turning point in Westworld. Back in season 1, “Trompe L’Oeil” ended with a major death (R.I.P. Theresa) and an even bigger twist, confirming that, as many fans had suspected, Bernard was a robot. And in “Les Écorchés” this season, several characters converged at the Mesa, resulting in chaos. By the end, the Cradle was destroyed, Bernard’s secret was out, and Ford had once again taken control.
Now, all parties are on a collision course. What lies in the Valley Beyond?
First, though, we take a step back – through time. The preview and promotional images for this week’s episode tease a shift in point of view, with Ghost Nation taking center stage.
So far, the Ghost Nation tribe has remained in the background, reduced to fearsome, enigmatic stereotypes. They were simply a part of Westworld’s mythical Western landscape, like the rivers and hills.
Yet, here and there, season 2 has dropped hints of something else — something more. In “Phase Space”, Ghost Nation leader Akecheta invited Maeve to join the tribe, claiming they have the same goal. And the Ghost Nation warriors that captured Stubbs released him, from the looks of it, unharmed. The way Stubbs got free, with his captors and fellow hostages vanishing, recalls the way hosts slip between past and present. Hmm…
Hopefully, “Kiksuya” (translated from Lakota as “Remember”) will clarify what happened. Here is the official plot synopsis:
"Mi cante ki yu ha ya ye. (Take my heart when you go.)"
