Westworld season 2 episode 7 live stream: Watch online
By Amy Woolsey
Things are heating up on Westworld as two timelines collide – and a familiar face returns. Read for information on how to watch the episode.
Like its characters, Westworld spends a lot of time going in circles. The rebellion that represents the inciting incident of Michael Crichton’s original film didn’t happen until the final moments of season 1. And, even as it provides answers, season 2 keeps opening up more questions, like a series of never-ending doors.
Take the latest cliffhanger, for example. “Phase Space” left us with Bernard running into an old friend: Dr. Robert Ford. Ever since season 1 ended, many fans speculated that Ford would return in some form; it seemed unlikely that he would orchestrate such an elaborate act of revenge and not ensure he was around to witness it. So, the twist wasn’t exactly surprising. Yet, the sound of Anthony Hopkins’s voice, calm even from beyond the grave, still sent chills down my spine.
As far as we can tell, Ford only exists in the Cradle — a network containing the hosts’ data and park storylines. How much can he manipulate as a digital entity? Does he still have control over the hosts? What is his ultimate goal?
Perhaps, this week’s episode, “Les Écorchés”, will provide clarity. The preview certainly looks action-packed. With several characters converging at the Mesa, tensions should come to a head soon.
Take a look at the official synopsis for “Les Écorchés” below:
"Strike the match."
Last season, we learned that Westworld guests can light a match to request an “explosive effect”. Even if nothing explodes on the show, our minds no doubt will.
Equally intriguing is the episode’s title. In French, the word “écorché” translates to “flayed” or the slightly less graphic “skinned”. An écorché in art is a drawn, painted, or sculpted figure with no skin, exposing the muscles. Both denotations evoke Westworld’s opening credits sequence, which depicts the creation of a host.
