Happy Birthday, Tom Holland! How do we love thee? Let us count the ways.

If there is one actor guaranteed to bring out in us a very particular combination of love and longing, it’s our friendly neighborhood Spider-Man, Tom Holland.

Ever since he swung onto our screens in Captain America: Civil War, Tom has captured our hearts and minds with the help of dancing, Instagram stories and a small frog held gently in his mouth.

We’re still recovering from Avengers: Infinity War and that one line (which we’ll discuss later), but we are not so far gone that we cannot appreciate the genius behind it. We may even find room to discuss his precious forehead curl too, but we’re making no promises.

It’s not just that Tom is Spider-Man and that he has, quite brilliantly, managed to overcome the Spider-Man fatigue that everyone professed to have after the Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield versions.

Although, he does have Spider-Man creator Stan Lee’s seal of approval. And that certainly helps.

We also love him because he’s simply a good egg. He’s helped his family set up a charity, he’s mastered the American accent, and he’s stolen countless hearts along the way, including our own, just by being his adorable, earnest self.

He’s talented (again, THAT Infinity War moment!). He’s sweet (see every interview on YouTube). He can dance and sing. And most importantly, he is doing his best.

So call 911 and let them know we have a suspect in the case of our missing hearts. It’s Tom Holland. But don’t worry, we’re not pressing charges.
