Get the Look: Black & Ivory Polka Dot Fit & Flare Short Sleeve Dress

Okay, obviously this is friend goals. While perfectly complimenting Priyanka Chopra’s buttons and structure, Abigail Spencer shined on her own in an Alessandra Rich full-length navy polka dot dress. We’re a sucker for a retro look, so this jumped out at us as she made her way to the royal ceremony.

Our first thought was that the outfit was giving us Julia Roberts at the polo match in Pretty Woman vibes. But it also reminded us that she had a recurring role on one of our favorite throwback TV shows, Mad Men. Abigail’s outfit has a ’70s-meets-’40s feel, but don’t get it twisted: she certainly comes across as anything but dated. This choice, and all of her red carpet appearances to date, display an effortless stylishness. We love that she opted for a hat of rosettes with a veil that sat closer to her head rather than being the focal point of the outfit. Finished off with a bold lip, Abigail is in a league of her own.

Abigail’s look is sure to have us all scouring our local vintage stores, but we found plenty of equivalent updates across the web. The white contrast collar and cuffs are what we really wanted to replicate. And while we dig this maxi length, and how it moves, we suggest this shorter version for the upcoming summer season. Pair it with a belt, and that red lip, and you’ve got yourself a solid classic look. Oh, and pockets — this dress has pockets!
