Meghan Markle’s former co-star Gina Torres will be headed to the Second City to lead a Suits spin-off, and this dress screams leading lady. She’ll also be playing leading lady in her personal life, as the estranged wife of actor Laurence Fishburne. The couple filed for divorce in fall 2017.
We’re loving the ornate yet delicate red and pink flower pattern that appears to be growing all around her body. Usually we’d think twice about wearing such a bold red piece to a wedding, but color is encouraged in this environment, and Gina ended up standing out among a sea of pastels (not that there’s anything wrong with pastels). Topped off with a low messy bun, ear crawlers that mimic the dress’ pattern, and flower-adorned fedora, this is the epitome of garden party chic.
The beautiful designs of Costarellos, who created Gina’s look, are unfortunately a bit out of our price range, even for a big event. We did find an easy breezy pink floral lace option that can help to fill the void. You can take this through summer from cocktails to the club to a backyard cookout. Don’t be afraid to wear this to a standard get-together with some casual kicks.
