Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD season 5 finale live stream: Watch online
With an ominous title like “The End,” Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD wants to make sure you watch tonight’s season 5 finale. We have what you need to know.
The world probably won’t come to a complete end on tonight’s episode of Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD, for one fairly practical reason: the show will have a sixth season on ABC sometime in the summer next year. But that doesn’t mean that there can’t be some fundamental changes to the show.
After all, we did have this little movie called Avengers: Infinity War come out recently, and though we’ve speculated before what sort of effects it could have on the show, the two really haven’t crossed over yet. If there’s a time to do it, it would be now, to leave an indelible impact on fans before making them wait a year to find out what happens next. (In fact, in so doing, it would pretty neatly mirror what Infinity War has done on the big screen.)
ABC has the synopsis, as always:
"Coulson’s life or death is the challenge the team finds themselves in, as the wrong decision will cause the destruction of Earth."
Now there’s the tension we’re looking for. Will the show actually let Coulson die for real this time? Well … probably not, if only because he’s the in for fans of the Marvel films to start watching (and hopefully binge all five seasons before season 6 next summer). But we could be wrong. It’s usually wise to keep an open mind, after all. Maybe it could be just what SHIELD needs.
