Supergirl season 3 episode 18 live stream: Watch online
By Amy Woolsey
With Purity and Pestilence vanquished, Supergirl only has one Worldkiller left to fight — but it won’t be easy. Here’s how to watch the episode.
Last week, Supergirl came face to face with all three Worldkillers. The showdown appeared to end in a victory for our heroes. Traveling across dimensions, Kara and Alex convinced Julia to take control of her alter ego and turn against Pestilence. In the ensuing skirmish, both Purity and Pestilence died, leaving Reign to complete their mission by herself.
Don’t pop the champagne just yet, though. Even as the Fortress of Sanctuary collapsed, it looked like Reign absorbed the powers of her fallen comrades. Now, she’s stronger than ever.
And this time, it’s personal. Read the official plot synopsis for tonight’s Supergirl episode, titled “Shelter from the Storm”, below:
"REIGN SETS HER SIGHTS ON RUBY – When Reign (Odette Annable) starts hunting Ruby (guest star Emma Tremblay), Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) and Alex (Chyler Leigh) work together to keep her safe. Supergirl and J’onn (David Harewood) look to Sam’s mother (guest star Betty Buckley) for advice on how to stop Reign and come away with some shocking news."
We’ve been worried about Ruby since the season premiere. There, she almost died in a missile attack, saved by her mother, who suddenly discovered a capacity for superhuman strength. She is both Samantha’s greatest asset and her greatest liability, a source of inspiration but also fear. As she continues to struggle with Reign, which will win out?
The return of Samantha’s mother, who briefly appeared in “Wake Up”, suggests we might learn more about Samantha’s past. If nothing else, taking an unconventional hiatus enabled Supergirl to time this episode so it coincides with Mother’s Day.
