Tonight’s episode is called “Between The Devil and the Deep Blue Sea.” That title suggests that Klaus and his merry band of New Orleans witches and vampires are firmly wedged between a rock and a hard place.
After Elijah’s refusal to rejoin the family unit, Klaus returns to search for Hayley. Don’t expect a quick recovery, The Originals looks set to throw in a few mystical curveballs. Heartfelt reunions are being bypassed this week. Klaus has wiped the tears from his eyes and he is back to his modus operandi of terror and nastiness. Let’s see Vincent and Marcel try to keep the peace.
Freya is heading to the Salvatore School to see Hope, though there is no indication that she will bump into Caroline or Alaric. The mystery of Antoniette and her past relationship with the Original family will also have to keep for another week.

"Frustrated by the lack of progress made in the search for Hayley, Klaus turns up the heat by taking hostages from each of the three New Orleans supernatural factions. Freya goes to Mystic Falls to check on Hope, who has been sent back to the Salvatore School. Vincent seeks guidance from Ivy after learning that Klaus’ erratic behavior is escalating."
