Westworld season 2 episode 2 live stream: Watch online

Two major characters seem poised for a reunion on this week’s succinctly titled Westworld episode.

Westworld opened its second season on a surprisingly low-key note. The premiere, “Journey into Night”, spent most of its 76-minute running time establishing the new post-rebellion world order. Dolores exacts vengeance against every human unlucky enough to cross her path, with Teddy by her side. Maeve has formed a tenuous alliance with Sizemore to find her daughter, while Bernard passes as human.

Less surprisingly, “Journey into Night” kept intact the nonlinear structure that made season 1 so notorious, introducing at least three timelines for viewers to track. How long will we have to wait to learn what happened to the drowned hosts? When will Dolores and Bernard reunite?

Based on the official stills for this week’s episode, the titular meeting will involve Dolores and a different host: Maeve. Though arguably the show’s heroes, the women haven’t interacted since “Chestnut,” when Dolores whispered Shakespeare in Maeve’s ear.

Strong-willed and angry, they should get along — in theory. However, the choices they made at the end of season 1 (Dolores got political, while Maeve went personal) suggest they have different agendas. Don’t expect them to call each other “sister” anytime soon.

Here is the official synopsis for “Reunion,” courtesy of the Futon Critic:

"Why don’t we start at the beginning?"

Westworld sure loves its mysteries, doesn’t it? Knowing the show, I’d bet that the “beginning” refers to either the origin story of a character, perhaps presented via flashbacks, or the Biblical beginning. Or, perhaps most likely, it’s just a tease. One thing’s for sure: the plot won’t suddenly start unfolding in chronological order.
