20 underrated reality show gems you should be watching

Family Therapy with Dr. Jenn
The premise: Celebrities consult with Dr. Jenn Mann to help mend their troubled relationships with family and spouses. The stars and their loved ones move into a house with Dr. Jenn and her team and undergo a series of therapy sessions, some in group and some individual.
Why you’ll love: Ever had a family spat? A fight with a sibling, parent or spouse? Basically everyone has — right? Well, you’ll be able to relate to these (barely) famous people and their issues — making your fights seem small or even normal. It’s amazing how frank and open some of the cast can be. They are so willing to bare it all, and my sheer nosiness makes it almost impossible to resist.
The dynamics of the families vary from season to season, but the most interesting and compelling are those of parent and child. Low-level celebrity Tiffany Pollard brought her mom, Sister Patterson who gained some reality infamy of her own. Sister Patterson, a self-proclaimed medium and clairvoyant, spent most of the season holding court with the other therapy-goers. Her melodrama could have sustained a show all on its own, but couple that with other cast mates trying to process her general situation, and it’s television gold.
How to watch: You can watch all six seasons on VH1’s website.
