18. The Incredible Hulk

I took it upon myself this new year to re-watch all 18 films of the MCU before Avengers: Infinity War. That includes this second film that everyone likes to block from their memory, because Mark Ruffalo is just so darn good as the doctor with anger issues.

And even though I only watched it a couple months ago, I really don’t remember much about it, especially anything relatively funny. Wasn’t there something about purple pants? Oh yes, that’s right. Liv Tyler’s Betty Ross bought Bruce Banner a pair of purple sweatpants when they went on the run.

Ed Norton’s Bruce Banner also gets a fun line regarding the subway: “Me in a metal tube, deep underground with hundreds of people in the most aggressive city in the world?”

Other than that, this movie has Stan Lee drinking one of the infected sodas … and a lot of Hulk smashing. The thing most people remember from it is that post-credits stinger that involves Tony Stark trying to recruit General Ross into the unnamed team-up initiative. An avenging initiative, if you will.

This one is unmistakably at the bottom of our list, and for good reason. No one likes a doctor without a sense of humor.
