1. Thor: Ragnarok

It is very hard not to just quote for this one, because this is a straight-up comedy. You’re practically overwhelmed by the amount of jokes thrown at you minute after minute.

You’ve never had a Marvel film like this before.

Every character dynamic, character duo, character team-up makes you laugh. Thor and Hulk? Ridiculous (think every scene in their shared quarters). Thor and Banner? Even funnier due to Banner’s nervous energy (“We’re on a planet that is designed to stress me out!”). Thor and Loki? Better than any other Thor film (think “Get Help”). Anyone with Valkyrie? Great (any time she falls over drunk makes you chuckle). Anyone against Hela? Everyone just eats up the scenery and rolls their eyes like a drama queen (“Did you not listen to a word I said?” she asks after her grandiose speech introducing herself).

I can’t even begin to throw out quotes, since there are so many. From the very moment Thor and Hulk faced off in the trailer and we heard Thor’s utterance of, “He’s a friend from work!” we knew things would be different for this film. Thor certainly has lightened up from where he started in 2011, and it’s for the better, too.

Even Doctor Strange’s brief cameo has some laughs, mostly thanks to his abuse of Loki (“I have been falling for 30 minutes!”).

And let’s not forget Korg, probably the best addition to this film. His laidback attitude and constant utterance of “Hey man” have you laughing when he starts any sentence. Even his introduction is the best:

"Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Korg. I’m kind of like the leader in here. I’m made of rocks, as you can see, but don’t let that intimidate you. You don’t need to be afraid, unless you’re made of scissors! Just a little Rock, Paper, Scissors joke for you."

This is a film you can watch again and again and catch a new joke every time. It’s the MCU’s hilarity firing on all cylinders. It’s unnecessary proof that the MCU can have a straight-up comedy among its ranks and not suffer for it.
