Jenna Dewan Tatum — “Pony”

There are some songs that are clearly distinguished just by the first note. And any teenager of the ’90s would agree that Ginuwine’s “Pony” is one of them. Chrissy Teigen recognized it immediately, as did most of the audience, when Jenna Dewan Tatum stopped by Lip Sync Battle.

Even before it started, the performance was expected to be next level. Most people know Dewan Tatum from her role in Step Up. It’s what brought her and Channing Tatum together. But she started her career as a backup dancer for Janet Jackson, later working with artists including Pink, Missy Elliott and Christina Aguilera. Dancing was expected for this performance.

What wasn’t expected was how Dewan would go all Magic Mike on the actual Magic Mike. LL Cool J couldn’t look away, but Channing Tatum couldn’t stop laughing. Bringing him on stage with her didn’t help the matter.

Dewan Tatum gave her everything to both her performances, but of the two songs she chose, this was the clear standout. It was going to be tough to beat.
