Channing Tatum –“Run the World (Girls)”
Jenna Dewan Tatum set the bar pretty high, but if anyone could match her epic performance, it would be her now ex-husband Channing Tatum. He answered her throwback performance with a modern classic: Beyoncé’s “Run The World (Girls).” The two have a daughter together, so it was a particularly empowering choice. Hopefully she uses this as inspiration forever.
Like Jenna, Channing got his start as a backup dancer. He was first cast as a dancer in Ricky Martin’s “She Bangs” music video. And, like his wife, he went all out for his LSB performance. Tatum transformed himself into Beyoncé, complete with wig, heels and a grand entrance on a giant ceramic horse.
After nailing the dance moves (again, in heels) Tatum brought out the true star of the show. Yes, he managed to get Queen Bey herself to join the performance — a moment that was not lost on Jenna. She stared on in absolute shock as Beyoncé finished out the number with Channing.
With a responding performance as good as this one, it was near impossible to choose a clear winner. So they didn’t. Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan Tatum were the first couples’ champion on the show, and they’re well deserving of the honor.
