The X-Files season 11 episode 9 live stream: Watch online
Chances are good that we’ll see something truly gross on Nothing Lasts Forever, the penultimate episode of The X-Files season 11
What’s the deal with “Nothing Lasts Forever”? Upon first glance, you might think that the latest episode of The X-Files has something to do with vampires or similar paranormal creatures. Someone (or something) is apparently hunted by a woman clad in black, reciting a ritualistic series of lines. Plus, someone is wielding metal bars in a manner similar to staking a vampire.
Then again, the synopsis for the episode seems to point towards cults, ritual, and gross-out effects. Maybe those vampires aren’t supernatural beings, but something a little closer to home. Not to be a total wet blanket, but no one has definitively proven that vampires actually exist.
Bloodthirsty cults, however? Those are very real. Depending on your mood and general inclination, that can go two ways. Either we’re in for a gross, kind of fun Grand Guignol, or this is going to be one grim, stomach-turning story.
Chances are also good that “Nothing Lasts Forever” has something to say about humanity’s inner turmoil. What, exactly, doesn’t last forever? Is it going to be something about a group of people who try to sacrifice their humanity and others’ well-being for immortality? A short-lived religious cult? Some poor person’s soft, squishy bits? It all remains to be seen.
Here’s the synopsis for “Nothing Lasts Forever”, courtesy of TV Guide:
"While investigating human organ theft, Mulder and Scully uncover a mysterious cult consumed with macabre rituals."
Here is when and where you can watch “Nothing Lasts Forever”:
"Date: Wednesday, March 14Start Time: 8 p.m. ETEpisode: “Nothing Lasts Forever”TV Channel: FOXLive Stream: Stream 1 | Stream 2"
At this point, it’s hard to fear for Mulder and Scully. They’re plenty capable and well-established television characters besides. But what will they (and, by extension, us) have to witness?
Unlike other episodes, it seems like we’ll at least have some warning. Perhaps it’s best to have only a light meal before you view this one.
“Nothing Lasts Forever” airs on FOX at 8:00 pm ET.
