The Guardians of the Galaxy pals have made their way through two of their own movies and Avengers: Infinity War. Now, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is on the horizon.

Marvel Studios just can’t get enough of churning out those great movie hits. And why not? The first Avengers scored $623 million back in 2012, according to Box Office Mojo. And the long-anticipated Black Panther made over $200 million just in the opening weekend.

So when can we expect another installment in the Marvel Studios franchise, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3? Soon, so to speak.

That Hashtag Show reports that we can see the Guardians back in action by May 1, 2020.

This date is on par with the Guardians 2  release, which kicked off the 2017 summer blockbuster season on May 5. However, this is a change from very first Guardians film, which was released in August of 2014.

The report also speculates that filming will take place some time early in 2019. Some pre-production supposedly is already underway on the movie. The production crew is working out in Fayette County, Georgia — where filming gets underway at Pinewood Atlanta Studios. Recently, this is has been a homebase of sorts for Marvel Studios, with productions like Ant-Man and the previous Guardians movie filming there.

Three movies in, this success is quite the marvel for director James Gunn. On Facebook, Gunn shared that while he was in the running to be the movie’s director, he was out of a job, but had a clear vision in mind.

“’Life is often externally ugly and harsh – but, if you look deeper, love and selflessness are the guiding forces of our universe,’” Gunn wrote in the draft packet for the first film. “That is still today what all three Guardians films are about,” he continued.
