Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa wasn’t kidding when he said to stick around for the last 20 seconds of last week’s episode. Watching Alice Cooper mop up the blood of some stranger shady guy made my whole week.

I’ve made no secret about my wobbling love affair with this show. However, I’ll admit Riverdale has my attention with this most recent murder. Whether or not Alice had to do the deed herself (and we all know she’s capable of it) or she’s just covering for Chic, I’m here for it all.

Mostly concerned with the dead guy removal and subsequent fall-out, “The Tell-Tale Heart” has some otherwise interesting moments as well. Archie’s career as wanna-be Goodfella seems to be pretty lucrative if the envelope of cash is to be believed.

Hal Cooper continues to be a giant pain, but it seems like Penelope Blossom might be able to keep him busy while his wife and daughter drag a decomposing body into a sewer drain. Fingers crossed.

Aguirre-Sacasa also offers a cryptic look into a Jughead storyline that could see a little forward movement in both his Serpent problem and his Betty conundrum.

I’m hopeful that Riverdale is well on its way back to being the pulpy goodness we deserve, and if it means Alice has to murder a grifter, then so be it.
