Game of Thrones season 8 spoilers: A rumor might be true

If we can trust the eyes of a fan, then Game of Thrones season 8 might just have had one of its biggest rumors to date confirmed.

There’s apparently no such thing as a post-Super Bowl day off for the hardworking cast and crew of Game of Thrones (probably at least partly because it’s mostly staffed by non-Americans), and with a new day comes a new report on where Kit Harington may or may not be. The ever-reliable r/freefolk on Reddit has found a tweet that appears to place the man who plays Jon Snow … in Croatia.

If this is true, then it would effectively confirm reports from late last month that Jon Snow would be in King’s Landing at some point or another during season 8. And that raises some interesting questions.

The thread on Reddit poses an interesting question: is Daenerys Targaryen also on the way? Well, the thread found an Instagram post suggesting she’s leaving Italy, so she could be in Dubrovnik sooner rather than later:

But of course, the major question is what on earth is Jon Snow doing in King’s Landing again? He hasn’t appeared often in the capital of the Seven Kingdoms, but when he does, it’s usually a huge moment for the show. Is it possible that he’s going to actually sit the Iron Throne, either as the sole king or with Daenerys?

What we don’t think is possible is that he’s negotiating a peace. That’s really not Jon’s forte — and if Dany sends him and him alone, that would be a major mistake on her part as well. It could presage a major turn for them in trying to trust her again, but it seems like they’d be more likely to tell Cersei no if she sues for peace or respond with, well … you’ll forgive the pun, but fire and blood.
