Game of Thrones season 8 filming spoilers: Things heat up in two locations

Game of Thrones wants its fans to be able to pay attention to two things at once, it seems, with reports that filming is happening soon in two locations.

Warning: If you want to know absolutely nothing about Game of Thrones season 8 spoilers, then this is perhaps not safe.

When it comes to a show like Game of Thrones, keeping multiple strands of information in mind and having a passing familiarity with often-complicated family trees are practically requirements to enjoy the show fully. (Or, like many, you can just consult the Internet. Either way, there’s a lot of information involved.)

And despite this, perhaps the show’s season 8 production thinks fans might very well be distracted by reports found by our sister site Winter is Coming that production will start back up in Dubrovnik, Croatia again soon from what could be the more interesting of the two filming news items seen today. Before, it was known that Kit Harington and Emilia Clarke had arrived in Iceland. Now, however, r/freefolk has it that crew members are now on the scene in Iceland, with the thread title itself basically summing up the conclusion to be drawn from this: “Probably not just photoshoot.”

“Probably not,” indeed. So, while one group of actors works in Croatia, another should be in Iceland. For the former, Lena Headey seems like the most obvious choice — as WiC reminds us, Dubrovnik is King’s Landing territory. However, WiC and the original reports also point out that word has it that “many of the leading characters” could put in appearances over in Croatia, with WiC speculating on the presence of Harington. We’d go a step further and say that perhaps we might spot Clarke there, too — but that might be the most under-wraps appearance, since it may be seen as a very easy way to possibly spoil who wins the Iron Throne at the end of it all.

Then again, The Dubrovnik Times also has the words “big finish” in its writeup of whatever’s going on over there for Game of Thrones, so don’t count the Mother of Dragons or the Queen of the Seven Kingdoms out just yet.
