Watch the first teaser for Solo: A Star Wars Story from Super Bowl 52 (Video)
By Buckie Wells
Lucasfilm finally released our first look at Solo: A Star Wars Story during Super Bowl 52. So, if you’re ready to check it out, watch the first teaser.
In preparation for tomorrow’s release of the first trailer of Solo: A Star Wars Story, Lucasfilm released our first look at the film. While it’s been plagued by a number of things since production started, including the big question, “Does anyone want a Han Solo movie?”, most Star Wars fans won’t be able to look away.
Though it’s only 45 seconds long, it does contain a look at all our major characters so far, including very well-dressed Lando Calrissian, Emilia Clarke and Woody Harrelson’s characters, and of course, Han Solo and Chewie.
I’m sorry, and of course — the Millennium Falcon.
From the new director problems and the bad reception of Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Disney is already expecting Solo to struggle domestically. In fact, they already dropped the Star Wars label from the film in China in hopes that it will boost the film.
So, since we all want to see the sneak peek, here’s the first 45-second teaser below:
Admittedly, we learned a lot in those 45 seconds. We see a pretty good idea of the worldbuilding put in place by the characters and what we can expect to be a story that revolves around the infamous Kessel Run.
When the teaser opens, the question posed is about making a difference. Though we met Han Solo as a smuggler from Corellia, he changed history for the Rebellion and did become one of the heroes who made a difference for the galaxy. This May, we’ll see his humble origins and exactly how he met his faithful sidekick, Chewbacca. Thanks to the prequels, we know that Chewie fled his home of Kashyyyk during the Clone Wars. More importantly, we’ll see Donald Glover (most likely) carry the film as the young Lando Calrissian, who also became an indisposable member of the Rebellion.
